The Profine Group (Troisdorf / Germany; www.profine-group.com) officially opened its new production facility in Vadodara, Gujarat / India, on 7 October 2017. The plant is located in the immediate vicinity of another of the group’s extrusion plant that has been there since 2013 (see Plasteurope.com of 06.06.2013). With its new building complex, Profine increases annual production of PVC-U profiles to 6,000 t and ups its three existing extrusion lines to five. In addition, the company installed a foiling line to colour-finish window profiles on site.

In total, the new plant is designed for a capacity of 15 extrusion lines that can process 15,000 t/y of PVC-U profiles. In addition to the production facilities, the 20,000 m² site also includes an extensive logistics area as well as a centre to provide technical training to partner companies.

Within the Indian market, Profine is active in the country with its “Kömmerling” brand and is, according to the company, one of the industry’s leading suppliers through its subsidiary in New Delhi. Since its initial market development in India 12 years ago, the group has made investments of about EUR 13m. Moreover, the company maintains production sites in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, the US and China, with a workforce totalling 3,000 employees.
