Prettl Manufacturing (Pfullingen / Germany; www.prettl.com) and RavenTech (Nuremberg, Germany; www.theravengroup.org/en/raventech) are creating a joint venture in Mexico to develop components and systems for household appliance manufacturers. Headquartered in Querétaro, the jv will work with customers to develop components and systems for white goods, such as dishwashers, fridges, washing machines and driers. The jv, named PR Appliance Technologies, will also work with OEMs.
Prettl Manufacturing, part of the Prettl group, said RavenTech’s specialist knowledge as a provider of product development services in the household appliances industry complements its global expertise in production using plastics. “Together we shall offer the customer a broader spectrum of services with innovative concepts", said Carlos Barroso, who represents Prettl in the new jv. RavenTech, which is part of the RavenGroup, already has a facility in Monterrey / Mexico.
Prettl also announced that its Prettl Automotive Electric business is adding another production and administration building at its site in Hai Duong / Vietnam. The facility, which is expected to cover 16,000 m², will produce exhaust emission regulation components, anti-lock braking systems and wheel speed sensors and components for use in future-oriented technologies, such as driver assistance systems. Start-up is expected by 2018.
