The board of directors of Polyvia (Levallois-Perret, France; www.polyvia.fr), the association of plastics processors, has appointed Xavier Chastin as its new director general at the beginning of October 2022. He succeeds Jean Martin, who held the post for 10 years – first as managing director of the predecessor organisation Federation de la Plasturgie, then at Polyvia after its foundation – and is now retiring.
Chastin sees plastics “at the forefront of the fight against global warming” because of their light weight and recyclability. Polyvia brings together around 3,500 mostly small and medium-sized enterprises with a combined workforce of 122,000.
