Polytec Elastoform GmbH (Kiesstr. 12, A-4614 Marchtrenk) claims to be the largest Austrian processor of cast polyurethane elastomers. The company has been using PUR elastomers since 1986 for a wide range of applications, such as castors, wheels, bearings, screws, seals, scrapers, mixer blades, sieves, tiles, rings and other moulded parts. Polytec specialises in high load bearing rollers and wheels for fork-lift trucks and other transport vehicles, which can be supplied with a range of different types of cores, including steel, polyamide, spheroid or cast aluminium. Polytec also manufactures complete ready to use roller assemblies, including core and bearings for textile machinery, lifts, cranes and wood-working equipment. The company uses modern, continuous casting equipment with fully automatic flow control, and uses about 200 t/y of various polyurethane systems. They are able to produce parts with weights from 2 g to 500 kg on the small or large scale, and to coat or encapsulate metal parts within the finished article according to customer requirements.
