POLYSCOPE
SMA range introduced for automotive applications
Polyscope (Geleen / The Netherlands; www.polyscope.eu) has launched an improved range of styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) engineering resins for the automotive industry. “Xiran” resins have been developed for use in dashboard carriers and other car components and have been introduced to fill the gap resulting from the decision by Nova Chemicals (Calgary, Alberta / Canada; www.novachem.com) to discontinue production of its “Dylark” SMA, Polyscope said. The company added that over the next few months it will expand its product range to cover all known SMA copolymer products for engineering plastics applications, while boosting production capacity ahead of demand.
