US polymer compounder and distributor PolyOne (Avon Lake, Ohio; www.polyone.com) has appointed Robert Bindner as president of its Performance Products and Solutions division. He replaces Don Wiseman, who is moving to another company, Polyone said.
Bindner joined PolyOne predecessor company BF Goodrich in 1988. He held various positions in the Performance Products and Solutions, Distribution as well as Color, Additives and Inks divisions. After two years as vice president of Asia, he most recently was VP and general manager of Color and Additives in the Americas.
In 2018, Performance Products and Solutions lifted sales to USD 735.8m, up 2% compared with 2017, while operating income went down by 4.5% to USD 71.5m. Polyone's 2018 revenue growth was driven by the Color, Additives and Inks division. Revenue here was at USD 1.05 bn, up 17% against 2017, and EBIT rose by 12 % to USD 195m – see Plasteurope.com of 04.02.2019.
