Introducing naturally conductive polymers range in Germany / Properties bestowed by changes in nanostructure
Scientists at Chinese nano-technology specialist Polynova (Suzhou) have introduced a new generation of naturally conductive polymers that can be used not only in antistatic packaging, but also to manufacture functional parts. The materials are now being made available in Germany by the company’s cooperation partners Global Advance (Frankfurt / Germany; www.ga-international.de) and CCons crößmann consulting (Pfungstadt / Germany; www.ccons.de).
The polymers’ antistatic properties are not the result of additives, but are brought about by changes in their nanostructure, Polynova said, adding that these changes make the materials naturally conductive – a property that is permanent and does not decline throughout usage.
The polymers, with an improved surface feel, are available in a range of different colours. As such, Polynova’s standard “Statnova PNA 100” HIPS/ABS blend can be provided in several dimensions, colours and with a wide range of surface conductivity.
The Chinese group plans to commission a storage facility in Germany by the end of this year in order to be able to supply its European customers in a timely fashion. At the same time, Polynova announced that it intends to introduce additional antistatic products in the near future.
