Turkish resins producer signs contract manufacturing agreement with former Italian Hexion subsidiary Novaresine
Turkey’s Poliya Composite Resins and Polymers (Istanbul; www.poliya.net) has signed a strategic contract manufacturing agreement for the production of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins as well as related products with Novaresine (Cola di Lazise / Italy; www.novaresine.com). The latter – formerly a part of Hexion Specialty Chemicals and renamed Novaresine in the wake of the 2010 takeover by Tenax (Verona / Italy; www.tenax.it) – will start producing polyester resins and gelcoats for Poliya in April.
Founded in 1965, Tenax specialises in the production and distribution of epoxy resins, mastics, surface treatments and abrasives for the natural stone market. The company operates three Italian facilities and is also present in Brasil, the US, India, Turkey, Spain, South Africa and Iran.
The agreement is Poliya’s first venture in Europe in the wake of its 2011 acquisition of the resins business of Şişecam subsidiary Cam Elyaf (Cayirova / Turkey; www.camelyaf.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 27.04.2011.
