Spanish BOPP film producer to begin cast PP film production in Portugal / EUR 7m investment in Reifenhäuser line

Poligal (Narón / Spain; www.poligal.com) plans to begin cast PP film production in Tabaçô / Portugal in Q2 2015. To that effect, the company has invested EUR 7m in a new CPP film line from German machinery producer Reifenhäuser (Troisdorf; www.reifenhauser.com). The company said the line will complement its existing BOPP film portfolio.
According to news reports, the line has a width of 4.8 m, and will produce film for food and non-food applications. Its total throughput reportedly reaches 12,600 t/y.
Poligal also operates a 30,000 t/y BOPP line in Tabaçô, situated near Arcos de Valdevez in northern Portugal. In addition, the company runs two BOPP lines capable of producing 20,000 t/y at its HQ in Narón, in Spain’s northwest. A part of Perelada, Poligal also operates sales offices in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Italy, Poland and Mexico.
