Wavin: Earnings up 40% in fortieth year
Wavin BV (Stationsplein 3, PO Box 173, NL-8000 AD Zwolle) has announced a 40% increase in first-half net earnings, to Hfl 14.7m, during its fortieth anniversary year. Operating income advanced 9% to Hfl 55m, as turnover rose 11% to Hfl 1.04bn. The upturn is attributed to improved margins and a rationalisation scheme that has resulted in more cost effective manufacturing and distribution. The company, which claiims to be "Europe's leading manufacturer of industrial plastic products," said it is "reasonably optimistic" about the outlook for full year 1995. Net earnings could be "40 to 50% higher."
