Nampak acquires all of Blowmocan
South African packaging giant Nampak (Johannesburg, South Africa) has bought the 50% share held by Rexam PLC (HQ: Knightsbridge, GB-London SW1X 7NN) in UK blow moulder Blowmocan (Pitfield, Kiln Farm, GB-Milton Keynes MK11 3LE). Nampak originally acquired Blowmocan in 1994 but then put it into a joint venture with Rexam's milk bottle subsidiary Bowater Polysystems in 1995. Nampak has paid GBP 2m for Rexam's share in the business, which moulds HDPE dairy and juice containers and has annual sales of GBP 32m.
