EVC favoured to take over PVC producer Rovin
Europe's market leader for PVC, EVC InternationalNV (HQ: NL-1077 XX Amsterdam), appears to be the favoured candidate to acquire plastics converter Wavin BV (NL-8000 AD Zwolle) and PVC producer Rotterdamse Vinyl UnieVOF (Rovin). The companies are now run by a 50-50 joint venture between Akzo Nobel NV (NL-6800 SB Arnhem) and the Shell group. Both partners are interested in selling. With annual production capacity for 600,000 t, Rovin is regarded as Europe's fourth largest PVC producer.
