Neste Polymers with low emission technology
Neste Polymers (FIN-02151 Espoo) has introduced a new resins production process that permits the design of low emission gelcoats. The technology incorporates a new unsaturated polyester-based polymer that the company says has “extremely good styrene compatibility” and can be used to formulate gelcoats with less than 30% total monomer content. The low styrene content of the new “Maxguard NP” gelcoat lowers emissions during spraying as well as improving colour retention and gloss.
