DuPont and Teijin to start PET films jv
US and Japanese films giants DuPont (European HQ: PO Box 50, CH-1218 Le Grand-Saconnex) and Teijin (Tokyo) have announced plans to form a joint venture in polyester films, which will have annual sales of USD 1.4bn and 340,000 t/y of production capacity for PET and PEN. The companies believe the jv will control around 25% of the world market. As DuPont will contribute 70% of the new firmĀ“s assets, it will receive cash from Teijin to even out the shareholding.
