Elf Atochem starts plastics additives plant

French chemical group Elf Atochem S.A. (HQ: 4, Cours Michelet, La Defense 10, Cedex 42, F-92091 Paris) has started up a new plant for acrylic- and PVC-based impact resistance modifiers at Vlissingen, in the Netherlands, lifting total on-site capacity for “Metablen” plastics additives to nearly 30,000 t/y. The products are used by the building, packaging and automobile industries. Metablen is a joint venture with Mitsubishi Rayon Corp. (Japan).
