TVK lifts polyolefins output in Hungary
Hungarian plastics producer TVK (H-3581 Tiszaujvaros; www.tvk.hu/eng) is investing EUR 430m in an expansion of production capacity for ethylene, PE und PP. By 2004 the expanded ethylene plant, being built by German engineering contractor Linde (D-82049 Höllriegelskreuth; www.linde.com), will have capacity of 610,000 t/y, up from 360,000 t/y currently. Downstream, output of PE is being widened from 200,000 t/y to 410,000 t/y. Some 40,000 t/y is being added to PP capacities already expanded in 2000, lifting total output to 180,000 t/y. TVK said the new capacity will slightly improve its market share in central Europe and enhance its position in the EU.
