Lithuania and Slovenia join ”green dot” system
Slovenia and Lithuania recently began using the “green dot” for packaging recycling, and the system now extends throughout Europe from Oslo to Ankara – about 3,800 kilometres from north to south. The licence to use the green dot is now issued by the European umbrella organisation Pro Europe (www.pro-e.org), based in Brussels. Each year across Europe, about 460 billion packaged articles bearing the packaging recycling symbol are sold in 18 countries.
