British Vita ends sheet production at Widnes
As part of a company reorganisation, British Vita plc (GB-Manchester; www.britishvita.com) will cease production of the thermoplastic sheet “Vita Thermoplastic Sheet” (VTS) at its UK plant in Widnes. Production will be shifted to other VTS locations in the UK and the European continent. All possible options had been thoroughly examined, said a spokesman. By the end of June 2005, some 46 employees will lose their jobs.
