Ems to build new Swiss polymer plants
The Swiss Ems Group (Herrliberg; www.ems-group.com) said its plans to build two large scale polymerisation plants as part of a CHF 40m (EUR 26m) expansion scheme at its Domat/Ems production site reflect its “chosen strategy of concentrating on performance polymers.” The plants, set to go on stream in 2006, will specialise in polymer for high barrier applications. At the same time, the group said it has agreed with employees to increase weekly working hours to 43, helping to “ensure efficient operations” at the Swiss site.
