Honam to build polycarbonate plant in Korea
Honam Petrochemical (Seoul / South Korea; www.hpc.co.kr/eng) has announced that it will build a 65,000 t/y, USD 189m polycarbonate plant at Yeosu / Korea. The new plant, scheduled to go on stream in October 2008, is believed to be part of a larger plan to invest in a cracker and downstream petrochemical products at the Korean site. Market reports say further details of the project will be revealed by the end of this year.
