Italian plastics processor takes over competitor Meccanica
Injection moulding machinery and tool manufacturer Meccanica GM (Loreto / Italy; www.meccanicagm.com) has been taken over by the Plax Group (Zola Predosa / Italy; www.plax.it). Meccanica's founders will continue to work with the company for several years until its full integration into the Plax Group, including its subsidiaries in Tunisia and China. Plax had pro-forma sales of more than EUR 44m in 2016 and an EBITDA of just under EUR 6m.
The Plax group is active in thermoforming and injection moulding and consists of eight companies, including Plaxtiglass and Askerz in the thermoforming area and Lampia and Wanox for injection moulding. With its newest acquisition, the Italian processor wants to secure additional customers and sales markets.
