More than 40,000 visitors from 90 countries at recent Turkish plastics exhibition / Broader international reach / Record number of exhibitors
The 23rd edition of the Turkish plastics fair “Plast Eurasia” (www.plasteurasia.com), in Istanbul, drew 40,383 visitors from 93 countries from 5-8 December. Not only was the total number of visitors up about 4% year-on-year, but exhibition space grew by 10,000 m² over 2012, reaching 90,000 m².

Organisers Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions (Istanbul / Turkey; www.tuyap.com.tr) and Turkish plastics association Pagev (Istanbul; www.pagev.org.tr) both expressed satisfaction with the record number of visitors to the four-day event. The attendees were also increasingly international, with Plast Eurasia 2013 attracting first-time visitors from Brazil, Mongolia, the Slovak Republic and South Korea. All in all, 85.3% of the attendees were local with the remaining 14.7% travelling from abroad – roughly the same visitor mix as in 2012.

Exhibitor numbers reached new heights as well with 1,084 companies from 40 countries showing products and services at the annual event.
Plast Eurasia 2014 is scheduled for 4-7 December in Istanbul.
