The report from Plastics Europe Polska (Warsaw; www.plasticseurope.org) titled Plastics – Facts 2024 in a Nutshell, stated that global plastics production in 2023 reached 413.8 mn t. Additionally, it said that over 90% of this came from non-renewable raw materials, while 36.2 mn t were post-consumer recyclates and 3.4 mn t were bio-based or chemically recycled plastics. Investment in Europe’s plastics and rubber products sector has also grown significantly, with spending reaching PLN 7.36 bn (equivalent to EUR 1.75 bn) in 2023, more than double the 2013 figure.
Plastpol is increasingly focusing on international markets, the organiser said. Last year’s show played host to 603 exhibitors from 31 countries, including Germany, China, the US, India, and the United Arab Emirates. While the number of exhibitors is set to be the same, Targi Kielce is anticipating an uptick in visitors for the 2025 expo. Around 15,000 industry guests are expected, reinforcing Plastpol’s role as a global hub for the industry.
The fair is set to feature plastics processing technology, including injection moulding machines, extruders, and recycling lines. Poland, recognised as a leader in plastics processing, sees the event as an opportunity to expand its market reach.
Sustainability remains a priority, with Polish companies embracing eco-design, green technologies, and circular economy principles. Industry experts anticipate moderate but steady growth, with automation and energy-efficient solutions shaping the future.
