PLASTPOL
Low exhibitor turnout this year / Next event planned for May 2021
Like almost every aspect of trade, international trade fairs are also trying to stay abreast in these uncertain times. The same was evident during the 24th Polish “Plastpol” (www.plastpol.com), which took place from 6 to 8 October 2020, in Kielce. The plastics and rubber-processing trade fair for Central and Eastern Europe was originally scheduled for 19-22 May 2020 (see Plasteurope.com of 30.03.2020).
The physical event that had attracted 910 exhibitors from all over the globe last year, managed to attract only 147 exhibitors from 12 countries in 2020. The organiser Targi Kielce (Kielce; www.targikielce.pl) did not provide any details about the number of visitors this year, despite repeated requests. The pictures from the event, however, show partly empty aisles.
Despite the seemingly low turnout, the 24th Plastpol introduced a “BioPlastics” zone this year, which featured biodegradable, compostable and bio-based products, and also held a “PlastechInfo” seminar on the second day of the fair to help improve public’s perception of the materials.
The 25th Plastpol is expected to be held from 25 to 28 May 2021.
