PLASTIVALOIRE
60:40 joint venture with Tunisia's Plastec is inaugurated
French plastics converter Plastiques du Val de Loire (Plastivaloire, Langeais; www.plastivaloire.com) and injection moulder Plastec (Ben Arous / Tunisia; www.plastec.com.tn) have officially inaugurated the production plant at their joint venture Tunisie Plastic Systemes (TPS) in the Sidi Abdelhamid industrial zone at Sousse / Tunisia. The French company holds a 60% interest in the jv.
TPS employs 120 people and produces primarily technical components for suppliers to the automotive industry and for automatic closure mechanisms. In 2007, Plastivaloire expects the company to contribute sales of just under EUR 4m, but sees considerable potential for future growth. The product portfolio of the Tunisian partner comprises mainly large-format injection-moulded plastics parts and containers including transport boxes, pallets and garbage bins.
