US-based Plastic Technologies (PTI, Holland, Ohio; www.plastictechnologies.com) has announced that its representation agreement with Japan’s Toyo Seikan (Shinagawa; www.toyo-seikan.co.jp) has been expanded to cover Europe. PTI became the exclusive agent in the US last year for Toyo Seikan’s ‘Fi-Cell’ foamed PET bottle processing technology for packaging applications – see Plasteurope.com of 12.08.2014.
Scott Steele, PTI’s president, said, “Over the past six months, our representatives in Europe have explored brand-owner interest in Fi-Cell technology in those regions. We are already working with companies in those areas to develop commercially viable bottles. This new announcement is a natural extension of the relationship that was already in place.”
Fi-Cell foamed PET bottle technology produces lightweight containers with good barrier attributes and strong visual tactile attributes, according to PTI.
