New joint venture with China's Beijing Automotive Industry Company
OEM supplier Plastic Omnium (PO, Levallois / France; www.plasticomnium.com) is strengthening its market position in China. To that effect, PO subsidiary Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy (www.inergyautomotive.com) – a former joint venture with Solvay which PO acquired last year (see Plasteurope.com of 30.07.2011) – has entered into a joint venture with Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts Company (BHAP, Beijing / China; www.bhap.com.cn), itself a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Industry Company (BAIC, Beijing / China; www.baiec.com).
The French group will hold a 60% majority in the new company, to which it will also contribute its production plant in Beijing. PO said the transaction would strengthen its growth potential in China.
