PLASTIC FANTASTIC
High-fashion highlighters
— By Plasteurope.com staff —

Clothes maketh the man – so it has been echoed by thinkers and writers throughout history. If you dress elegantly, you attract attention. And so, writing-instrument giant Schwan-Stabilo has started to attract new groups of buyers with the extravagant appearance of its highlighters. Together with Italian fashion-design icon Dolce&Gabbana, the German company has launched a special collection of “chic” fluorescent pens.

The plastic bodies of the markers are no longer crudely dressed in neon colours, but rather printed with, among other things, the “cheerfulness of traditional Sicilian decorations”. In the spotted-fur design of one of the four highlighters, Stabilo’s marketing specialists even believe they can recognise “the biting and determined soul of the leopard”. With Mediterranean blue and zebra prints to boot, we have to ask: is it now too late for a stocking stuffer?
