There is ceaseless gossip in management circles at the top, as sales figures lay in the gutter.

Playmobil CEO Bahri Kurter is therefore hoping that an art auction in Berlin will finally generate some positive publicity: ten oversized Playmobil figures will go under the hammer at the Beinghunted.gallery. Each of the 1.5-metre-tall plastic people has been transformed into works of art, with proceeds from the auction reportedly to go to a good cause. If the bids are plentiful, perhaps Playmobil ought to convert its entire range to the XXL format. After all, better small problems with big figures than big problems with small figures...
