PLASTIC FANTASTIC
Bidders go Radio Ga Ga for rockstar's old school timepiece
We don’t know what the winner of the auction for a red plastic wrist watch owned by Queen frontman Freddie Mercury was thinking, but it could have been, Don’t Stop Me Now. Or maybe it was I Want It All.

Forking over more than GBP 35,000 (EUR 40,319) for a Seiko Pulsemaster from the ‘80s, an unidentified party must have raised a few pulses in the room at Sotheby’s in London in mid-September. Observers likely surmised the bidding was A Kind Of Magic as the auction house estimated the price of the lot at GBP 300-500.
The timepiece was part of sale of the late singer’s estate. We hope the winning bidder danced away humming Another One Bites The Dust to their competitors.
