The Big Apple's fight against garbage

Hard to say which of the following is in greater number in New York – residents, trash bags or rats.
It will, however, be interesting to see how mayor Eric Adams’ project turns out, as part of which he intends to banish rubbish bags from the streets and collect them instead in community containers. There is likely to be plenty of opposition. There are fears of fires at the drop-off points, a decline in collection quality – because separation must continue – and then there are the 150,000 parking spaces that, according to initial calculations, could fall victim to the collection containers.
In addition, there is probably the human inertia if the container is not in front of one’s own house. The only ones who will be happy are the rats: they will find all the goodies in one pile instead of having to scurrying through the streets.
