“A monster that eats discarded plastic bottles!”

If only that were true… While adults wish for imaginary beings to solve their problems, children have the prerogative to truly believe in them. This is why the aforementioned makes for a great marketing campaign for a toy company intent on delivering the environmental message to kids.

A company in the US is now making plush toys, called Monsterkins, entirely from recycled PET bottles. “It takes approximately three to 26 plastic water bottles to make each Monsterkin,” it says. If only they’d not chosen the most-recycled plastic type on the planet though, maybe the message would’ve been deeper. Wishful thinking?
