PLASTIC FANTASTIC
When marine litter becomes the sea's bounty
When large vessels get lost at sea, there is a chance that they may be recovered – that is, if they do not disappear into the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. The odds of recovering tiny items swallowed by the waves, however, are infinitely lower. Yet, although the ocean keeps a lot of its bounty inside, every once in a while it will release some.

That is currently the case with a container of 4m Lego pieces that disappeared into the blue depths about 20 years ago. The pieces – now collectors’ items – are now being washed ashore in Cornwall / UK. Among them are a dragon and an octopus, two species Poseidon obviously decided to expel from his kingdom.
