PLASTIC FANTASTIC
It is as easy as duck soup!
A US institution, the Campbell Soup Company, has a tagline, "It's amazing what soup can do" but here at Plasteurope.com we think there should be another slogan, "It is astounding what humans no longer can do" namely open a tin – see the UK and its inability to open a can of beans without injury see Plasteurope.com of 06.09.2013 – and now, in the US, it seems too much to ask to open a plastic pouch of soup for the microwave or open a can and dump the contents into a pot. How many generations of American children grew up saying the first meal they could cook was a can of Campbell's chicken and noodle soup or SpaghettiO's after all?

Think Andy Warhol and his famous image of the soup can! We applaud the ingenuity and flexibility of marketing at the company that its now offers soup in a capsule, no doubt for vending machines or offices with small kitchens, but it seems as if the skills of human beings are now regressing. In school, children are taught to ponder the amazing dexterity of the 10 digits attached to the hand and now we seem to be suffering from a kind of fatigue from perhaps too much smartphone texting or pressing buttons for comfort coffees and snack foods...perhaps there is such as thing as reverse Darwinism?
