Getting their ducks in a row ahead of Christmas
Santa’s beaked helpers will probably spend the holidays boxed up in a warehouse (Photo: IstockPhoto/ABDESIGN) |
Bathtubs in California will be empty over Christmas as the state’s port authorities in early December seized 35,712 rubber ducks clad in various holiday costumes. Made in China, Santa’s beaked floating helpers were found to contain higher-than-allowed levels of phthalates. It remains unknown what will happen to the dressed-up birds passing as Santa, snowmen, reindeer and penguins.
Clearly, the elves that made the floaters should have known that any duck that is not part of the festive Christmas meal is a dead duck.
