A ball game for the birds
In what sounds like one of the preludes before Alfred Hitchcock’s birds start their coordinated attack on mankind, a woman in Devon / UK has had her roof pelted with colourful plastic golf balls, dropped by flocks of seagulls. It almost seems as though one little bird spread the news about the balls – the origin of which remains a mystery – and a whole bunch of them decided to join in on the new ball game.

The act gives entirely new meaning to the saying “to eat like a bird”. Experts believe the winged creatures mistake the golf balls for mussels, which they crack open by dropping them from a height. There’s nothing like a bird-brain to drop the ball…
