The tribulations continue at the US Plastics Industry Association (Plastics, Washington, D.C.; www.plasticsindustry.org), which now has to start looking for a new president.

Tony Radoszewski, who first succeeded the late Bill Carteaux in mid-2019 (see Plasteurope.com of 02.08.2019), has been a controversial figure both internally and externally, and he departed the organisation on 25 March. His successor has not been named, and the association declined to provide more detail on the resignation to Plasteurope.com. The group’s chairman, Tad McGwire, merely thanked the former head of the association for his work in three terse sentences.

The departure was said to be preceded by a number of fierce internal quarrels. Radoszewski was rumoured to have been reproached more or less from the beginning of his term for his harsh, autocratic management style, which was followed by a spate of staff resignations. Press spokesman Brendan Thomas and events manager Susan Krys left last year (see Plasteurope.com of 08.07.2021). And chief economist Perc Pineda joined the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) just a few weeks ago.

Radoszewski’s tenure also coincided with the exit of a number of important association members, including Coca-Cola, General Motors, PepsiCo, SC Johnson and petrochemical powerhouse Dow.
