Hans Ketelslegers appointed director for sustainable use of plastics

On 23 April, Plastics Europe (Brussels; www.plasticseurope.org), the European trade association representing plastics manufacturers, announced the appointment of Hans Ketelslegers as its new director for the sustainable use of plastics. Ketelslegers has previously led regulatory affairs at Penman Consulting.
In a statement, the association emphasised that Ketelslegers’s leadership will be central to shaping the industry’s transition to a circular economy. With a strong background in toxicology and environmental science, he is expected to drive initiatives aimed at aligning the plastics sector with EU sustainability goals.

Hans Ketelslegers holds a PhD in environmental carcinogenesis from Maastricht University and is a European registered toxicologist. His previous roles include that of REACH director and science executive at Concawe, as well as chair of the corporate committee of Eurotox.
