Bulgarian film producer Plastchim-T (Tervel; www.plastchim-t.com) has acquired what is said to be the world’s largest BOPP line from Germany’s Brückner Maschinenbau (Siegsdorf; www.brueckner.com). The line, which is 10.4m wide and capable of speeds up to 600m/min, will have a future total output of more than 110,000 t/y.
Managing director Beyan Faik said the new highly productive line would allow Plastchim-T to react very flexibly to the market’s fast-changing demands with various BOPP film grades in small or large lots, even at short notice. The equipment adds to the company’s existing Brückner lines in widths of 4.2m, 6.6m and 8.7m (see also Plasteurope.com of 16.04.2010).
Plastchim-T also manufactures PP yarn, bags, flextainers and flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs), cast PP film and PE foil. As well as supplying its domestic market, the company sells to countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.
