Robert Willig takes over as CEO of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics specialist
The US processor of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics Plasan Carbon Composites (PCC, Wixom, Michigan; www.plasancarbon.com) has a new CEO. Robert Willig succeeds James Staargaard, who will provide strategy consulting in the future. To date, Willig has been in management positions at US automotive powertrain suppliers, such as GKN and Gates.

Since 2013, the world's largest carbon fibre producer Toray Industries (Tokyo / Japan; www.toray.com) holds a 20% stake in Plasan Carbon Composites, which, with three factories, claims to be the largest manufacturer of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic parts on the US automotive market (see Plasteurope.com of 01.08.2013).
