PLANTIC TECHNOLOGIES
Exclusive distributor for Linpac's high-barrier films in Australia and the Americas / Larger portfolio offers customers a “complete packaging solution”
Australian bioplastics producer Plantic Technologies (Altona, Victoria; www.plantic.com.au) has signed an exclusive distributor agreement with Linpac Packaging (Knottingley, West Yorkshire / UK; www.linpacpackaging.com) for high-barrier films sold in Australia and the Americas. Under the terms of the deal, Plantic Technologies will add Linpac’s range of lidding films and top webs to its existing portfolio – including its eco plastic ultra-high barrier bottom webs and trays. The arrangement will allow the Australian firm to offer its customers a complete packaging solution.
Plantic Technologies CEO Brendan Morris said Linpac’s films would be marketed under Plantic’s “Clear Seal” trade name. The UK group’s portfolio is characterised by high barrier at reduced gauges and has what Plantic called “outstanding optics, controlled shrink and super anti-fog properties”, allowing for high-quality presentation and protection.
Aside from its main office and manufacturing plant in Australia, Plantic also produces its corn starch-based biodegradable and sustainable rigid and semi-rigid films at a production site in Germany. In addition, the group also runs sales offices in both the US and the UK.
