Piovan (Santa Maria di Sala / Italy; www.piovan.com) has strengthened its position in the extrusion sector through the acquisition of dosing technology specialist FDM (Königswinter / Germany; www.fdm-technik.de). FDM, which has 25 employees, is forecast to record turnover in excess of EUR 5m in 2010. Piovan chairman and managing director Nicola Piovan said that the acquisition of FDM had provided opportunities for strategic growth in sectors it has identified as promising.
The companies will have a presence at “K 2010” (www.k-online.de) in Düsseldorf / Germany later this month, where two blenders manufactured by FDM will be on display on the Piovan booth.
