Cargill Dow's "NatureWorks" biopolymer now in Taiwan too
Cargill Dow LLC (www.cargilldow.com), Minnetonka, Minnesota / USA, has concluded an exclusive distribution agreement for packaging products made of "NatureWorks" polylactic acid with Taiwan's Wei Mon Industry Co. Ltd (WMI; www.weimon.com.tw). The material, with maize as its main ingredient, is to be marketed under the name "Nature Green" in Taiwan. In view of the country's increasing problems with plastic waste, the government is working on new environmental guidelines to ban the use of one-way plastic articles, starting with bags and tablecloths produced from fossil fuels.
