Kuraray steps up its EVOH capacity in Antwerp
Japan's Kuraray chemical group (www.kuraray.co.jp) has made a start on the EVOH capacity expansion it originally announced for 2002 at its European subsidiary, Eval, in Antwerp / Belgium. The current maximum output is to be doubled to 24,000 t/y by the third quarter of 2004. Demand for this material as a barrier layer for packaging film and plastic fuel tanks is currently growing by an average of 10% per year, says Kuraray.
