Deceuninck acquires Thyssen Polymer
Belgium's Deceuninck, Hooglede-Gits (www.deceuninck.com), producer of PVC-U window systems and building profiles, has signed a sale and purchase agreement for the acquisition of German competitor Thyssen Polymer, Bogen (www.thyssen-polymer.com). The consolidation will start in June 2003, after completion of the anti-trust review. Thyssen Polymer has a total extrusion capacity of approximately 86,000 t/y and had sales of EUR 186m in 2002. The companies' combined turnover amounts to EUR 549m. Deceuninck claims worldwide leadership in its sector after the acquisition.
