Packaging recycling: Lithuania and Slovenia join "green dot"
With the new addition of Slovenia and Lithuania, the "green dot" for recycling has been adopted from Oslo to Ankara - about 3,800 kilometers from the north to the south. The two countries have adopted the packaging recycling license that now includes an agreement with the European umbrella organisation called Pro Europe (www.pro-e.org), based in Brussels. Each year across Europe, about 460 billion packaged items in 18 countries carry the green dot.
