Engel reports turnover growth in H1 2003
Thanks to the revamping of its main site at Schwertberg in Austria, injection moulding machinery manufacturer Engel (www.engel.at) was able to lift sales by 27% in the first half of financial year 2003 (1 April-30 September) and expand its market share further, Peter Neumann, chairman of the Engel holding told journalists attending the "Fakuma" trade fair. Although earnings were running an estimated 10-15% below 2001, Neumann said operations were solidly in the black. Engel is banking on new technologies and expansion in packaging machinery to keep business on track despite a difficult market environment.
