Kuraray lifts thermoplastic elastomer output
Japan's Kuraray (www.kuraray.co.jp), Tokyo, has announced plans to increase annual production capacity of hydrogen styrene elastomers at its Kashima plant by 4,000 to 23,000 t/y up to 2005. Combined with the output at its US subsidiary Septon the worldwide production capacity will then meet 35,000 t/y. The company said it is "committed" to meeting market demand for more highly functional and speciality materials. Plans are to increase global production capacity to 50,000 t/y.
