Omnexus to shut down by the end of November
Omnexus (www.omnexus.com), the internet trading platform for plastics based at Zurich, Switzerland, will be shut down at the end of November at the latest. Rumours of a shutdown had been circulating since the Fakuma exhibition in mid October. Omnexus pulled out of the exhibition at the last minute, as its financial backers reportedly declined to provide any more funding. The trading platform was founded during the internet hype of the year 2000 by engineering plastics manufacturers BASF, Bayer, Dow, DuPont and Ticona.
