Wavin sees 17% EBIT growth in H1 2004
Dutch-based Wavin (www.wavin.com), Zwolle, which claims to be Europe's leading supplier of plastic pipe systems, improved its EBIT by 17% to EUR 33m in the first half of 2004, despite pressure from "significant" raw materials price increases. Sales rose 9% to EUR 504m. The company said its performance in most markets improved compared to the same period last year. For the full year Wavin said it expects to show a "marked improvement" in sales and profit compared to 2003, although growth in the second half will be less spectacular, compared with the good second half of 2003.
